The Shout Out Belt is a bold reinvention of one of history’s darkest symbols—the chastity belt—transformed into a powerful statement of autonomy, style, and strength. Created by a young Swedish designer, this modern twist started as a school project in 2016 and exploded into a global conversation.
Since 2006, sexual violence hasn’t declined—it’s increased. And yet, tools for personal safety remain shockingly outdated. Shout Out aims to change that. This isn’t just an accessory—it’s a call to action. A stylish, wearable reminder that safety, visibility, and empowerment can (and should) go hand in hand.

How it works
A modern chastity belt with some functions that will increase your chances of escaping a rape.

To open the belt the perpetrator need two hands.

While the belt takes time to open, it gives you time to reach for your pepperspray or alarm.

It takes time to open the belt up, wicth gives the women time to fight back.

The belt can not be used against you like other safety product can.

History
"Our belt was created in 2006 with the aim of helping women feel safer. It can be as a fashion statement while also serving as a tool to prevent rape.
Although it has been referred to as a "modern chastity belt," it is quite different from such a device. The belt is essentially a buckle that is difficult to open, giving women time to fight back, reach for other products, or call for help. It is to be easy to use and open for those who know the maze and have free hands, but very difficult for those who do not."
Now the product is ready to come back on the market. Because as you know rape isn´t decreasing, on the contrary, it has increased to such an enormous amounts that 1/3 of women experience sexual assult and 2/5 women get raped during their lifetime.
We do wish that this product would not be needed at all. But women have been saved from using the product and we do wish to help women and men who moves around in areas where rape is a unfortunate issue.
How to use the product
Easy to use
The belt is very easy to use. You will wear it as a normal belt, with jeans or other pants strong enough to not rip open. To open and close the belt, you need to move a button up and down a hidden maze that lays hidden behind the front design of the belt. No more than your own two hands id needed and you can easy remember the maze.
